They came flyin' from far away,
now I'm under their spell
I love hearing the stories that they tell
They've seen places beyond my land and
they've found new horizons
They speak strangely but I understand
And I dream I'm an eagle
And I dream I can spread my wings
Flyin' high, high, I'm a bird in the sky
I'm an eagle that rides on the breeze
High, high, what a feeling to fly
Over mountains and forests and seas
And to go anywhere that I please
As all good friends we talk all night,
and we fly wing to wing
I have questions and they know everything
There's no limit to what I feel,
we climb higher and higher
Am I dreamin' or is it all real
Is it true I'm an eagle
Is it true I can spread my wings
Flying high, high, I'm a bird in the sky
(I'm an eagle)
I'm an eagle that rides on the breeze
High, high, what a feeling to fly
(What a feeling)
Over mountains and forests and seas
And to go anywhere that I please
And I dream I'm an eagle
And I dream I can spread my wings
Flying high, high, I'm a bird in the sky
(I'm an eagle)
I'm an eagle that rides on the breeze
High, high, what a feeling to fly
(What a feeling)
Over mountains and forests and seas
Flying high, high, I'm a bird in the sky
(I'm an eagle)
I'm an eagle that rides on the breeze
High, high, what a feeling to fly
(What a feeling)
Over mountains and forests and seas
And to go anywhere that I please

I need it by Wed if you can for the movie on Friday.
Thanks!
I like ABBA a lot. In fact, I have 38 tracks of theirs on my iTunes, and my daughter likes them even more. If I allowed my father any more influence over me, I'd have every sound they ever made from 1972 to 1984. Honestly. He's the craziest ABBA fan I know, and I know several.
Oh. I also have, thanks to my 'generous' father, every video of ABBA's and every documentary ever made about them.
"Eagle" is a song that my dad loves, too. But according to him, the song was inspired by, and written about The Eagles. Yes, those Eagles, with Don Henley, Glenn Frey and those other crazy dudes. Benny and Bjorn both were big fans of The Eagles and wrote this song to express it. Of course, they were smart enough not to give that away too much in the lyrics, so that the rest of us could interpret it however we like. All of this according to my ABBA-crazed father. Talk about de-mystifying something ...
"Eagle" is such a good song, it could have been a smash hit like a lot of their other songs, if they needed it to be. They didn't need it. They had Godlike powers of melody and production back in their heyday. My favorite ABBA songs, which were not hits, are "That's Me," "When I Kissed the Teacher," and "Our Last Summer."
Don't even get me started on "The Name of the Game." It's almost as awe-inspiring as "Good Vibrations," if you really listen to it. Every nook and cranny of it is catchy enough, and distinct enough, to break out into a whole other song.
You should see the video for that song, "Eagle," with Agnetha and Frida's images superimposed over rolling, mountain-and-wilderness vistas. Yes, ABBA made videos, long before MTV made such a practice necessary. They were years ahead of their time, and still did amazingly well in the time they inhabited.
