IMAGINE YOU ARE AT A PARTY....
YOU'VE BEEN DRINKING....... (not that you would...)
AND THEN YOU HAVE TO VISIT THE BATHROOM....
You open the door....
THE FLOOR IS JUST A PAINTED FLOOR!
KINDA TAKES YOUR BREATH AWAY..... DOESN'T IT?

"If your heart did not break now and then, Spring Moon, how would you know it is there? Hearts break, then mend and break and mend again in a cycle without beginning, without end. As surely as dawn sows the evening, twilight sows the morn."

Many years ago I read this book just when I first started surfing the cyberspace. I liked the heroine of the book and I liked the name. I've tried many different names since but somehow I keep coming back to this. | | | |

There is a hill called Nam-san in the middle of Seoul. Seoul is the capital city of South Korea as most of you probably know. Nam-san means south mountain and it must have been at the south end of Seoul at one time but the city grew around it, so it stands smack in the middle of the city. At the peak of the hill, there was the City Park. It had all of the things a nice park should have, including spectacular view of the Seoul.
One pleasant afternoon, a group of us were there: three friends of mine and I. I don't know exactly what brought us there on that particular day but I remember we were seniors in high school. We talked about our dreams, budding ambitionss and aspirations of our future, and there was upcoming graduation of which has made us all a bit wistful, I believe. Then, one of us suggested that we should make a pact to get together after exactly 10 years, at the same time, at the same place. As corny as it sounds, we all thought it was a splendid idea and found it rather romantic, so we promised to each other to be there.
So many things have happened to me in the next few years, and then I came to America. The promise was com- pletely forgotten, and by the time I remembered, the 10 years were long past and gone. Even if I had remembered it on time, I probably wouldn't have gone back to Korea just to make the date. When I finally remembered, it merely brought a small sardonic smile to my face because I very much doubted if anyone would have followed through the promise that was made when we were just naive, dreamy young girls who had no idea what life had in store for us.
But then again, I wonder if any one of those girls remem- bered and actually kept the promise...?
